Welcome to the official website of The Most Worshipful John G. Jones Grand Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Jurisdiction of Louisiana, Inc. As outlined by our articles of incorporation, the primary purpose of this Grand Lodge is to, "...give charitable assistance to those deemed in need, care for the sick, provide ceremonial rites for deceased members, help the widows and orphans, to promote academic excellence, to reward academic excellence through scholarships, and to organize clubs and lodges in the State of Louisiana...".

 

As the current Most Worshipful Grand Master for the State of Louisiana, I would like to extend brotherly fellowship to you all and welcome you to our online community.  Please feel free to browse our site for information regarding Freemasonry.

District Deputy Grand Master

History of the Most Worshipful John G. Jones Grand Lodge

The Most Worshipful John G. Jones Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. Jurisdiction of Louisiana formerly (Most Worshipful King David Grand Lodge A.F & A.M Of Louisiana Inc) and Jurisdiction, was organized and founded on August 05th, 2017 at 2032 NE Evangeline Thruway, Lafayette, LA 70501 in the Ramada Inn Hotel now Garden Plaza Hotel,  Hon. Olugbenga J. Shomade was Elected and installed as the President of the organization.

After instituting three Lodges; Lights of St. John No.9, Ionic Lodge No. 102, Doric Lodge No. 103, were organized by Most Worshipful Joshua Grand Lodge, A.F & A.M for the State of Arkansas through a dispensation. On August 5th, 2017, the representatives of these three subordinate Lodges in the City of Lafayette, State of Louisiana met at the convention and adopted a By-Laws for the formation of M. W King David Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Mason of Louisiana and all the Grand Lodge Officers was installed by Hon. Kenny Woods 33rd of the Most Worshipful Joshua Grand Lodge, A.F & A.M for the State of Arkansas. Also at the convention on August 5th, 2017, Lodge Eureka No 104 was organized. Hon. Olugbenga J. Shomade became Grand Master of the Jurisdiction with a total of fifty members.

 

On August 14th, 2017 Hon. Olugbenga J. Shomade (Grand Master) established and incorporated the Most Worshipful John G. Jones Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. Jurisdiction of Louisiana through the Louisiana Secretary of State.

 

On September 15, 2017 the Most Worshipful John G. Jones Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. moved to 604 St. John Street, Lafayette, LA and the MW Grand Master began to layout his work on the Trestle Board for a foundation on which the Most Worshipful John G Jones Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. would exist for generations to come.

On June 03rd, 2020, almost 3 years to the formation of this Grand Lodge, the visionary and dedicated brother Hon. Olugbenga J. Shomade located and purchased a building on behalf of M W John G. Jones Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M located on 701 Fifth Street, Duson, LA. 70529 which now serves as the permanent home of the Grand Lodge and Grand Chapter. The Board of Directors unanimously voted and named the building "HON. O.J SHOMADE MASONIC HALL"

Since its inception The Most Worshipful John G. Jones Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. has had the current Grand Masters:

Mission Statement 

Through effective leadership and the development of a series of programs and initiatives the M W John G Jones Grand Lodge of AF & AM of Louisiana will continue to grow by building a vibrant and active membership base and a positive public image.

Vision Statement

The vision of the M W John G Jones Grand Lodge of AF & AM Jurisdiction of Louisiana is of a community of Freemasons striving to provide leadership and education that will maintain the ideals and tenets of the Craft while adapting to the challenges of an ever changing society with the ultimate aim…to make good men better.

Most Worshipful John G Jones Grand Lodge is organized as a 501 c (8) organization under the laws of the United States Internal Revenue Service.
